Nicole de la Marge was quite plain without make-up, but given half an hour or so with her bag of cosmetics she could transform her funny little face and mousy hair into things of astonishing beauty. She knew all the tricks of her trade and was constantly changing, adapting, and bringing herself in line with the current fashions.
