Two college co-eds who would each go on to have much success and fame in their respective careers were featured in the August 1964 Mademoiselle magazine:

While attending the University of Pennsylvania ('67), model-turned-actress Candice Bergen was the cover girl and appeared in a beauty editorial:

Fashion designer Betsey Johnson had just graduated from Syracuse University when she was chosen to be one of the 20 Guest Editors:

Yes, that's Betsey hanging off the ferry on the far left! Her caption read:

Betsey Johnson, Fabric Editor, has been an outstanding art student (at Syracuse U.), musical comedy dancer, and cheerleader. Particularly sensitive to color and texture, she designs fabrics, has sold some of her designs.

Betsey was immediately promoted from Guest Editor to intern. In this 2005 interview, she recalled a very formative time in her early career at Mademoiselle magazine:
