On October 8, 1968, director Franco Zeffirelli's new film Romeo and Juliet opened in the U.S.A. To publicize the release, the September 1968 Seventeen magazine featured an editorial of fashions inspired by the film. The young stars, Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey, even appeared on some of the pages. Carmen Schiavone was the photographer:
