German-born American artist Peter Max created the iconic Cosmic 60s style of distinctive line work and bold color combinations:

Peter Max was a pioneer in reproducing his artwork on product merchandise, as can be seen on the cover and in the pages of the April 1970 Seventeen magazine. Bonnie Lysohir was the featured model, and I've created a special album for this issue in her Portfolio Album:
